Biography

Wijlen Wij can be seen in many ways as a dream team of the Doom, since the formation brings together well-known activists from the European scene, and especially from Belgium. Instead, judge: Kostas Panagiotou ( Pantheist , singing / guitar / keyboards), Stijn Van Cauter ( Until Death Overtakes Me , singing / bass / guitar), Lawrence Van Haecke ( Solicide , bass) and Kris Villez ( In Somnis , drums). The band formed in 2002 with the idea of creating the most desolate and desperate sound regions possible. They began to compose an album together in early 2004, but the gestation was long given each other's demented schedule. An eponymous album was finally recorded in 2006 and mixed by Greg Chandler (Esoteric) at Birmingham's Priory Studios. The band signed a contract with Aesthetic Death Records that released the 2007 CD, quickly acclaimed by all as being the album that was missing from the Funeral Doom Metal scene since the death of Thergothon and the hibernation of Skepticism. Three years later, a split entitled Unveiling The Signs was released at Redrum 666. There is a piece of Kostas Panagiotou, Gallileous, Dissolving Of Prodigy and Pantheist, most of the projects being related to other activities of Wijlen Wij musicians.
