Biography

Coming from California (Sacramento) Will Haven formed in the mid-1990s; Initially formed by Grady Avenell (sing), Jeff Irwin (guitar) and Mike Martin (bass), the band will often change drummers in the course of their career. An eponymous EP was released in 1996 and the band was spotted, Will Haven's very special metal hardcore and a year after the band signed its first album (El Diablo ) on the Revelation label. Two WHVN albums followed in 1999 and Carpe Diem in 2001. The band then decided to split up, some of them set up The Abominable Iron Sloth or Ghostride (with members of Tinfed and Oddman) and their own label on which the albums of Team Sleep (side project by Chino Moreno de Deftones, great friend of Will Haven), Sock or Oddman. But less than three years later, to the general surprise, Jeff Irwin announced the band's reformation in fall 2005. The latter would have continued to compose riffs typical of Will Haven, and this decision was therefore naturally necessary. A new EP, synonymous with a new start, is also planned for early 2006. The band also recorded the arrival of a new guitarist, Cayle Hunter (ex-Oddman , Ghostride ), but the warm welcome of fans and the reintegration of Avenell was unexpected, so Will Haven decided to record a new album squarely. Then at the time of joining the studios, Cayle Hunter brutally decided to leave them to devote himself to more personal projects. The album The Hierophant will be released in 2007 via Bieler Bros. Records, with Jeff Jaworski (ex- Red Tape) on the microphone
At the end of 2009, Will Haven finally recorded Grady Avenell's definitive return to his ranks and the band announced that it was working on a new album with its original screamer for a release by 2010. Or, say, the band's fifth album was finally released only the following year, with Chris Fehn (Slipknot ) on the bass. 4 years later, still on the same line-up, Will Haven returns with a new EP, the second since the beginning of his career, Open The Mind To Discomfort. You will have to wait three more years before eating a sixth long-format cobblestone, Muerte , sheltered by Minus Head Records and including two guests, Mike Scheidt ( Yob ) and Stephen Carpenter ( Deftones ).
