Winds Of Torment
Biography
Winds Of Torment was founded in Saint-Étienne in 2001 by Bertrand (guitar), Jean-François (battery), Jérôme (guitar), Alban (bass) and Xavier (chant). A line-up that will remain unchanged until today. On March 28, 2003, after two years of developing a style of its own, between melodic death, thrash and black metal, the band gave its first concert. Many other dates will follow throughout the Rhône-Alpes region, including groups like Benighted , Destinity , Belenos , Cesspit or Descent , as well as two dates in German Switzerland. In March 2004 released the demo "The Cells of the Erased", EP 4 self-produced titles. This first essay received a very favourable reception from both the press and the public, and allowed the group to be quickly spotted by the Metallian magazine, then to be among the 6 groups chosen for the springboard co-organised by the Rock Hard magazine and the Mascot Records label. The band also continues to chain dates with groups like Killers, Aabsinthe or Artefact. On October 1, 2005, Winds Of Torment won the Mascot Records springboard at the Grand Final at La Locomotive in Paris. This victory allowed the band to sign a recording contract with the Dutch label Mascot Records for recording its first album. On September 10, 2006, the band went to Germany for three weeks at the Kohlekeller Studio (Benighted , Crematory ...), to put his first album, "Delighting in Relentless Ignorance", which was released on April 13, 2007.
