Biography
Winterwolf was formed in 1997 with the aim of playing a death-metal old school, fat and filthy. Originally from Maaninka a small isolated village in Finland, three enthusiasts of Death-Metal and especially of groups like Morbid Angel , Deicide , Venom , Bolt Throner or Celtic Frost want to recreate the same kind of atmosphere in their music. Corpse (Guitare / Chant), Possessed Keripukki (Basse) and Telaketju (Battery) begin to repeat and record in 2000 and 2001 two demos at Studio Perkle: Death...Will Come Your Way and Blood For Death . Corpse decides to move to Kuopio, a larger city in central Finland, in order to make more known Winterwolf, but the rest of the group does not follow. He found new members, but continued his career under a new name: Deathchain. After five years of inactivity, Winterwolf Reactive Body in 2007. New musicians were recruited in 2008 with Bobby Undertaker (Guitare / Chant) (Deathchain), K.E.Pestilence (Basse) (De Liriums Order) and E.R.Insane (De Liriums Order). Then begins the composition of C ycle Of The Werewolf, but several problems arise. Bobby Undertaker is replaced by Abomanitor ( Demilich ) and Rotten ( Deathchain , Survivors Zero ) is given the position of singer en route because Corpse no longer feels like performing vocals for this new Winterwolf formation. A few label concerns later, Cycle Of The Werewolf released at Xtreem Music in 2009 over ten years after the band's debut.
