X Makeena

The adventure began on the Rennes side, the home town of the five energy energists of X Makeena, in 2001 for this atypical formation. Quickly spotted live, their favourite ground, the Rennes signed in 2002 at the premises of Foutadawa (Yosh , Strup X , Monsieur Roux ...) and landed in the ferries in 2004 with a surprising first album: Death on the Wax . This release opens doors to them and we find them in the four corners of France in the company of groups as varied as Tagada Jones, Hilight Tribe, Lofofora, Red Bong .. and more generally in the mostpart of the reference festivals (Vieux Charrues, Transmusicales de Rennes, Astropolis...) in the company of many sizes such as Beastie Boys, High Tone or Laurent Garnier. The band was active and only returned in 2007 with Instinctive Dérive , a more thoughtful album. A false lull that propels them all over, until they go to play in India and then in some neighbouring countries during 2007-2008. Returning to France, the Rennes were focused on recording their third album, Behind the Eye , which was released at the end of September while the five agitated were already on the road. A French tour is currently underway since September 25, the day this last album was released.
