Biography

Xandria formed in the mid-1990s on the initiative of guitarist Marco Heubaum, but it was in 2000 that the band became known thanks to some tracks available on the internet. The founder then tries to regroup a stable line-up to make this trial a reality. Among others, he recruited singer and keyboardist Lisa Middelhauve, who soon became Xandria's leading figure. The album Kill The Sun was released in 2003, then Ravenheart in 2004, and India in 2005. This frantic rhythm does not prevent them from turning, with Subway To Sally, ASP or Epica. This demanding lifestyle and media overexposure push the singer to leave the adventure after the fourth album, Salomé: The Seventh Veil. Kerstin Bischof replaces her for a year before hanging up too. Lisa Middelhauve, the former vocalist, is acting without re-integrating the group, and Manuella Kraller (ex-Haggard) is officially taking over the position in 2010. This new line-up comes out Neverworld's End in 2012 before fate catches them up: Xandria is once again without a singer. His replacement is Dianne Van Giersbergen (who has no connection with Anneke Van Giersbergen ). In May 2014, Sacrificium was released, and then a year later, Xandria offered her first EP, Fire And Ashes , which included new titles, covers, and old reworked titles.
