Xaon
Biography
Xaon is a death metal symphony band formed in Sion, Switzerland in 2014. Florian Jacot-Descombes (Basse - Serpens Luminis , Epine , Calcined ), Vincent Zermatten (Guitare / Samples) started as a duet in 2014 and were joined by Rob Carson (Chant) with whom they recorded the ep Face Of Balaam in 2016 with Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork , The Night Flight Orchestra ) as a guest on the song Discrowned . The trio recorded The Drift in 2017, their first album, which appeared at Sliptrick Records. They gain a certain reputation by turning in Europe, Asia and the United States with the help of Sylvain Chambard (Batterie - Récole Morbide , Otargos ) who support them during the live. They tread the boards of the rooms in the company of Sirenia, Obscura, Archspire or Týr. However, Florian left the adventure in 2017. For the writing of the second album, Vincent and Rob call Julien Racine (Battery) and John Hemery as session bassist for the album. It is named Solipsis and is released in 2019 at Mighty Music and is very well received by critics. Xaon consolidates his strength with the arrival of Laure Begue (Basse - Aephanemer ) and with the departure of Vincent in 2022, it is two new guitarists who are recruited in the people of Eerik Maurage ( Brutal Sphincter , Dead Season ) and Klin HC. The now quintet releases the excellent The Lethean in 2022 in a self-produced way.
