Biography

Xavier Rudd was born in 1978 in Victoria, Australia with a surf under his feet (the film Point Break was shot on a beach next to his home), a didgeridoo under his lips and a weissenborn in his hands. Surprised by music, it was when he saw Paul Simon playing during his Graceland Tour that he had the revelation of his vocation. He released his first album (live) in 2001 : Live in Canada . His first studio album, To Let , was released in 2002 and was produced by Chris Thompson and himself. Second live, still in Canada, Live at the Grid (2003) allows him to play around the world, including in traditional music festivals. His second studio album, Solace, contains a moving resumé of "No Woman, No Cry". Released on 28 March 2004, he was one of the top 20 sellers in Australia. He then recorded Good Spirits in 2005 and Food in the Belly in 2006... with a certain ease of writing that disconcertes certain. Xavier Rudd is a talented one-man band, fresh, positive, balanced and engaging, who owns a management company, Teamworks, located in Vancouver, Canada, which takes the time to take care of his son and his wife (he seems to still have a son's sock to remind him of his presence), book tours around the world and cobble with the ocean during a surf session
