Yellow Matter Custard
Biography
In 2003, Mike Portnoy (ex Dream Theater, Transatlantic, The Winery Dogs ...) asked his friend Neal Morse (for which he plays drums on his solo albums) to create with him a band of Beatles covers. The name Yellow Matter Custard comes from the lyrics of the Beatles I Am The Walrus song: "yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog The two musicians ask Ty Tabor (King Paul Gilbert ( Racer X , Mr. Big ) will finally take the six-strings. The bassist position returned to Matt Bissonette (bassist for David Lee Roth , Elton John , Joe Satriani , and ironically for Ringo Starr (ex Beatles ) between 2003 and 2005). The band gave only two concerts in 2003, on 17 and 18 May. The second was the recording of the double-live One Night In New York City, which was released in 2003 and then on DVD in 2005. In 2011, the experience was renewed for a few dates. Matt Bissonette being unavailable, Kasim Sulton (ex Utopia) takes the bass. The band has a set-list of 40 titles, none of which duplicated those played in 2003. Double-live One More Night In New York City is released on this occasion.
