Biography

Yelp was born in 1995 as the continuation of a first adventure with Polite Vandalism . Even though the band's only recording is only a participation of a title on an obsucr compilation (Larmende Opptog I Taushetsgata in 1996) Yelp frequently performs in concert and it is during one of them that the young Norwegians meet André Bach in 1998, putting at the same time the finger in the gear that will surely lead them but discreetly towards international recognition without ever releasing any album. From this meeting will be born an association realized in 1999 when Yelp signed the soundtrack of the legendary 1st Base , the first documentary ever made on the Base Jump with André Bach and his acolyte Terje Halvorsen at the helm. The band disappeared shortly after, however, and dispersed into a multitude of projects (Shaun Bartlett , Ox , Addicted to Habit , Mua , Mua&Shaun ...) without Yelp's artistic and human core actually bursting. Also when the 1st Base team handed over the cover in 2004, Yelp and its ramifications resumed service before leaving again. The band remains dead and buried almost five years before, faced with the persistent demands of its small but loyal fan community, finally returning to the stage at a Base Jump demonstration in 2009. In front of the reception, Yelp decides to renew the experience for the following year for a final farewell show that precedes a few months - the soundtracks of 1st Base and 2nd Base have never seen the light - the release of his first and only album after 15 years of activity.
