Formed: 1997
Styles: Jazzcore

Biography

Born in 1999, Zu explores the impenetrable paths of experimental mathy/free jazz/noise music (etc...) in the form of a trio battery-bass-saxo with unbridled energy. Spotted by Mike Patton (with whom the band will be shooting in quartet for a while) and his Ipecac label after the release of Igneo (2002 - produced by Steve Albini), the Italians chain concerts and albums, allowing them to play alongside The Melvins , Dälek , Lightning Bolt , The Ex in particular and collaborate with their Dead Elephant counterparts in 2008.
In 2009, the band released Carboniferous , still also abducted but more heavy, in which Mike Patton and King Buzzo participated and planned before the end of the year a split with Dälek and a collaboration with NoMeansNo.

The discography presented here is of course not exhaustive, Zu chaining projects and collaborations with a stakhanovist anarchy.
