Biography

It was in 2001 in Toulouse that Julien Deyres (Chant / Guitar, Gorod), Jonathan Rauzy (Guitare) and Samuel Santiago (Batterie, Gorod) began to rehearse and compose their first songs in order to mix Brutal-Death-Metal and Hardcore. After a first concert heavily watered with vodka in 2002, the band decided to call itself Zubrowska with a "s" in reference to alcohol and Ska. Julien Labache (Chant) and Florian Rubio (Basse) join the combo to make real concerts and compose new songs for the future album. Zubrowska signed with Xtreem Music in 2003 which allowed One On Six to be released at the end of the year. Claude Abi Rached is also recruited as second vocalist. Their reputation is growing, the band performs regularly, even with Akercocke, Aborted, Cannibal Corpse and Kataklysm. Zubrowska did not drag and recorded in the wake of Family Vault in 2005. Unfortunately the group encounters linear-up problems. Sam was replaced by Léo Margit, who two years later joined Pain Of Salvation, leaving Anthony Labonne behind the drums in 2008. Julien Labache also abandoned the project in 2009, but Julien Deyres decided to take care of the song, leaving his place as guitarist to Mikaël André (Eryn Non Dae ). Despite these difficulties, Zubrowska managed to release an ep, 61 , in 2007 and shot among others with Terror , Gojira , Cephalic Carnage and performed at Hellfest , Brutal Assault or Obscene Extreme. In 2010, Zubrowska is back with a more mature and darker album called Zubrowska Are Dead . He's coming out on their own label, Bollocks Records. Florian Rubio has left his bassist position in Cymon Lamarre since 2011.
